Digital Learning Specialist

The Digital Learning Specialist is a new and exciting role at UK Coaching.

Sitting within our growing learning team the role will contribute to the modernisation and improvement of coach learning within UK Coaching and partner organisations. With over three million people coaching sport and physical activity across the UK, this role will help to transform coach learning across the sport and physical activity sector.

The Digital Learning Specialist will be an expert in online and digital learning, providing advice on creative and cost-effective digital learning solutions (such as e-learning, digital learning, social learning platforms, mobile learning and video based learning). Supporting the new approach for coaching learning and development in the UK (see the approach here), the role will be future focused, considering new and emerging technologies and how they can be applied to coach learning and development

The role will work across the organisation to ensure the coordinated and effective delivery of all digital learning solutions. A significant part of the role will involve supporting partner organisations, such as governing bodies for sport, county sport partnerships and leisure providers, disseminating good practice across the sector, and providing advice through one-to-one and group consultations, and facilitating other events. The role will help to build digital learning capability within UK Coaching and across the coaching community to support more people to enjoy sport and physical activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leading the development of a digital learning framework and a digital learning improvement plan, underpinned by best practice in digital learning.
  2. Reviewing existing assets and providing recommendations on new digital learning solutions and their future development.
  3. Identifying innovative, cost-effective digital learning solutions, supporting strategic objectives and business requirements.
  4. Upskilling colleagues to ensure they have the necessary skills, knowledge and confidence to operate within a digital learning environment.
  5. Working collaboratively with content writers, learning designers, eLearning developers, videographers and graphic designers to produce high quality digital learning resources.
  6. Acting in a consultative and advisory capacity to provide support and guidance to the sector on the development of high quality digital learning solutions.
  7. Facilitating a range of digital learning and networking events for learning professionals working within the sector.
  8. Keeping up to date with their own professional development, and wider learning developments and trends in the market.
  9. Contributing to the development and implementation of UK Coaching policy and strategy through internal meetings and working groups.
  10. Maintaining a high level of awareness of UK Coaching programmes, products and services in order to respond to specific needs of individuals or groups.
  11. Following and promoting the vision, values and policies of UK Coaching internally and externally.
  12. To undertake other such duties as may be required from time to time that are consistent with the responsibilities of the post and the needs of UK Coaching.
