UK Coaching's Head of Talent and Performance Nick Levett, said:

We are really pleased to have grown the breadth and depth of the programme to support coaches from such a wide variety of sports.

"This will add huge value to the cross-sport element of the coaches’ work and provide some rich learning opportunities. We are excited to see what opportunities this presents us with and support the coaches accordingly as they travel their different development journeys."

GB Taekwondo Development Programme Manager Steve Green, said:

The Performance Foundation programme forms a key part of our coach development strategy.

"We are delighted that Daniel Flesher has been afforded this unique development opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Romaine Bailey, Andrew Deer, Mike Harvey and Rich Fairhurst, all of whom have become increasingly curious in exploring other learning environments as well as connecting with coaches from other sports.  This has very much influenced and shaped their current coach philosophy.

"I am certain that Daniel will thrive within this learning environment and will grasp the opportunities presented to him.  Undoubtedly, he too will evolve his thinking as well as develop the way he coaches young athletes.”

GB Rowing's Chief Coach for U23s and Juniors Peter Sheppard, said:

The overall impact of the programme on our first cohort of coaches so far has been exceptional and something we as a sport couldn’t have done on our own.

"Certainly not in the same way as bringing in a neutral coach developer with skill and experience to challenge and work with the coaches. For this reason I wanted others to have this opportunity in the future, hence us nominating coaches for the second edition of the programme.

"Having a few coaches from our sport on the programme has also brought them closer together, with greater respect and understanding for each other. All of the coaches have had to find time to make meetings and ones to ones, and I am sure just doing that has made them realise that creating space for self-reflection is much more feasible than they first thought."
