Coaching Children (Online Classroom)

Reinvigorate your approach to coaching children

Our newly-evolved online classroom incorporates the latest research on essential topics that are intrinsic in the coaching of children between the ages of 5 and 12.

This is an exciting chance for you to reconsider the emphasis of your coaching and enhance the experience of your young participants. You'll come away with all the innovative techniques and cutting-edge information you need to become a more effective coach.

To help you understand how your coaching fits into a much wider agenda than sport, you will:

  • learn a mix of traditional and contemporary models of coaching based on the development of participants’ technical, tactical, physical, mental and social competencies
  • take a detailed look at the ‘C’ system of coaching to equip you with new tools to improve your soft and personal skills.
  • be introduced to the principles of Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU), cognitive considerations for coaching 5-12 year olds and understanding the importance of child physiology.
  • learn fun and innovative practical techniques for keeping children engaged to blend with the pioneering academic theory.

You can access the online classroom through your mobile phone, tablet, PC or laptop. The online classroom is powered by webex. To test access to this software click here.

You will need the following equipment:

  • Headset or a device with speakers
  • Device with a microphone
  • Ability to connect directly into your router (wifi access may drop out)

It's £36 (£30 + VAT) to book onto this course.

We will be in touch to:

  1. Confirm your booking
  2. Send you a link to your session
  3. Tell you your certificate is ready to view on your dashboard (after your session).

This session will run for around 90 minutes to 2 hours. It depends on the flow of the session – we don’t like to cut people off while they are learning!

You are part of a small group so you will have a chance to discuss points and ask questions – as if you are in a face to face workshop, only you get to sit in your own chair and drink a real cuppa in your own mug and not something brown from a vending machine!
