More Than Sport: Your Role in Tackling ACEs, 12-1pm (GMT) Friday 7 May 2021

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are traumatic experiences occurring during childhood that cause repeated suffering. They can cause direct harm (such as abuse) or indirect harm (such as growing up in a house with domestic violence). Research has shown that regular participation in sport can have a significant impact on mental health and self-esteem. Presented by Community Engagement Lead for the ACE Support Hub for Wales Laura Tranter and Clinical Psychologist for Gwent Community Psychology Debbie Mills, this session aims to explore the vital role of the coach in helping children and young people to thrive in the face of adversity and the power of the relationships you build.

Play Their Way: Reframing Children’s Coaching, 12-1pm (GMT) Friday 21 May 2021

The Children’s Coaching Collective (CCC) are committed to ensuring that every child comes first in sport and physical activity and that coaching fits around children’s needs and rights. With the aim of raising the bar on children’s coaching, the CCC will share their findings and mission in this session, inviting you to help shape their efforts to place the child at the centre of everything they do. They will be joined by Head of Policy and Impact at UK Coaching Heather Douglas, Human Rights Lawyer, Club Secretary and Coach at Salisbury Rovers FC and AFC Salisbury Debbie Sayers and Sergio Lara-Bercial, who is a founding member of the ICOACHKIDS Global Movement.

What Do Coaches Think?

AMAZING! Loving Time2Learn… More, more, more, please!

Much more interactive than any other webinar that I have attended!

Enjoyable and challenged my thinking, really liked the interactive elements.

Joining in the Time2Learn webinar was such a positive experience. The session was well-run, well-timed, informative, informal and chatty. I was made to feel welcome and my comments were valued. I enjoyed the banter with other coaches through the chat box and it was great to participate with coaches from a huge range of other disciplines. Thank-you SO much. Can’t wait for the next one!

Love it! We learnt so much from other coaches in other sports.

Really enjoyed this – thank-you – informative, interactive, which has benefits and I really liked the chat box. Thanks UK Coaching!

Good to hear what other coaches are doing and share ideas. Thanks!
