Caroline Roberts speaks to Director of the Child Protection in Sport Unit Anne Tiivas about current difficulties in safeguarding children and next steps for the CPSU

The Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) is a partnership between the NSPCC, Sport England, Sport Northern Ireland and Sport Wales. Following a series of high profile cases of abuse of young athletes by people in positions of trust, it was founded to minimise risk to child participants in sport.

In the following Q&A, Director of the CPSU Anne Tiivas details current issues surrounding safeguarding in sport, the progress that has been made to establish meaningful practices, and the challenges to be met in the future.
